Overlaminates

If advanced card security and durability are your concerns, FARGO overlaminates are your solutions. Our patented, industry-leading laminating technology is designed to give you the ultimate in card protection.

PolyGuard™ Overlaminate

Our exclusive PolyGuard lamination material is a secure, tamper-resistant overlaminate available in both .6 mil and 1.0 mil thicknesses. PolyGuard provides superior durability, far exceeding the lamination capabilities of other card printers. Independent tests have shown cards printed with PolyGuard can withstand 50,000 swipes through a magnetic stripe reader before showing signs of wear, while competitive cards begin to show wear after only 300 swipes. PolyGuard is ideal for applications which require long, highly secure card life.

PolyGuard Overlaminate, a polyester "patch," is applied over a printed card in the Pro-L Card Printer/Encoder's lamination station. It not only makes card designs tamper-resistant, but it also protects printed cards from abrasion and fading.

Thermal Transfer Overlaminate

Thermal Transfer Overlaminate is a medium security, medium durability overlaminate that measures .25 mil thickness. This lamination material is ideal for applications requiring tamper-resistant cards with a moderate life span.

Holographic Card Protection

Holographic PolyGuard and Thermal Transfer Overlaminate, with a globe image and the word "SECURE" in microtext, offers an added level of security by making your card more unique.

Globe Hologram

	FARGO's stock hologram — a globe image encircled by the word "SECURE" in microtext.
	Available in both Thermal Transfer and PolyGuard Overlaminates.
	Affordable security. (Anyone can purchase the globe/secure design, however, and therefore it provides only limited security.)

Custom Hologram

	Unique holograms created especially for your customers, in either Thermal Transfer or PolyGuard Overlaminate.
	FARGO works with a handful of expert holography companies around the world to create this holographic "art." With a great deal of skill, time and very costly precision equipment, they "engineer" holograms containing multiple security features like microtext, UV printing and precision repeats of the design.
	Very high security.

Lockable Card Hopper

Whether you are using one standard card stock like blank whites, or switching back and forth between white cards and secure e-cards in the two hopper stacks … load them up, lock them up, and then walk away, secure in the knowledge that your card stock is protected. Store your cards in the locked hoppers instead of leaving them tossed on a desktop for any passerby to pilfer, or to collect dust, fingerprints and debris.

To lock the Card Hopper Door and protect your cards, simply insert the included key and turn the lock counter-clockwise about a quarter turn. To unlock the Card Hopper Door, turn the lock clockwise about a quarter turn.

Oversized Cards

Traditionally, oversized cards have been used in high-security applications where fast, at-a-glance visual identification is vital. Today, however, more and more organizations are turning to oversized cards because they can help increase security.

An oversized card is larger than the standard, credit card size card most people carry. Oversized cards come in two sizes:

	CR-90 (3.63" x 2.37"/92mm x 60mm)
	CR-100 (3.88" x 2.63"/98.5mm x 67mm)
